Each week we have introduced one of our building inspectors that underline the experience and professionalism offered here at Australian Property Building Inspectors (APBI) by our building inspectors and this week the profile is on Michael Paterson an APBI building inspector with 40 years of building industry experience plus an extensive knowledge of the Building Act Queensland. Michael is a qualified builder with and commenced his career as a brick layer before becoming a registered builder with the Builders’ Registration Board of Queensland in 1980. Thus bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. Michael has been self employed as a builder since gaining his registration and license in 1980 securing new home building contracts in Queensland while running the day to day operations of a building and construction business.

Using the many years of building industry experience, he became a Building Inspector in 2006 after completing the Completed Residential Building Inspectors Course with Master Builders Training. Michael has since completed many building inspections for clients looking at purchasing their next home or investment. 

Michael continues to remain active in the building industry as a licensed builder in conjunction with conducting building inspections. He is employed with Australian Property and Building Inspections and conducts Pre-purchase, Pre-auction or Pre-sale building inspection in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast areas.

Michael is a licenced builder with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission and holds the following qualifications and certificates:

• QBCC License 14744
  • Builder – Low Rise (Builder Licence)
  • Bricklaying and Blocklaying (Trade Contractor Licence)
  • Completed Residential Building Inspection (Builder Licence)
• Registered House Builder
• Completed Residential Building Inspectors Course
• As with all our inspectors Michael holds a National Police Check certificate and is covered with APBI for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
